Capital Workforce Solutions > Services > Success working remotely

It has been well over 12 months since the way we do business has changed.  Whilst working remotely was not a new concept for our team at Capital Workforce Solutions; lockdowns and home-schooling most certainly was!

The importance placed on the health and well-being of our team is always the highest priority to us at Capital Workforce Solutions. When the whole world went into lockdown in 2020, Capital Workforce Solutions were quick to establish a morning routine of connecting virtually over Zoom for a variety of sessions from laughing yoga, creating 6-word stories, to making homemade dishwashing tablets. The concept was to emulate those conversations you would normally have whilst making your morning tea or coffee in the office tearoom.

20% of our workforce are located in Melbourne. With the latest lockdown in Victoria and the uncertainty of where the finish line is, we are especially aware that lockdown fatigue is a reality and that this can have a negative impact on mental health.

We asked our Melbourne team what their top 5 tips were to successfully work remotely during lockdown and we would like to share these tips to help anyone else enduring the 5th lockdown for the state.

Here are our top 5 tips:

  1. Establish a routine that include breaks, exercise and getting outside
  2. Get dressed for work, having a uniform of some sort helps (slippers are acceptable)
  3. Set goals for the day – little things that you can control help a lot
  4. Don’t be afraid to reach out when your day isn’t going too well
  5. Stay connected with family, friends and work colleagues – don’t isolate yourself any more than is absolutely necessary.

Do you have team members who are living in Victoria in the current lockdown? How are you supporting your team? We would love to hear your tips.
